CITY OF REFUGE OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Mission Statement

The CITY OF REFUGE OUTREACH PROGRAM is a NON-FOR-PROFIT organization whose purpose is to help better the condition of our community by helping those individuals who require assistance. Our mission is to provide food and essential non-food items, temporary financial assistance, resource family counseling, and after-school tutoring for those in need. We believe in nourishing the whole man through our thoughts, words, and deeds, while being mindful to carry out the ministry of love and service by which God has called us to fulfill.

PROGRAMS

FOOD PANTRY: Established in 1985 as an in-house program to help meet the needs of the pastor and family, the pantry has evolved into a community service provider through meeting the needs of the congregation and neighboring residents. This expansion now includes providing food baskets during the holiday season. The pantry operates every 2nd and 3rd Friday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

G.R.O.U.P.   Is Acronyms for God Reaching Out Using People. As a multi-level national Christian organization, GROUP’s aim is to reach, motivate, cultivate and give directions to men and women who have been involved with drugs, alcohol, imprisonment and domestic violence. G.R.O.U.P involves a three phase program for men and women called New Directions. It is structured as "a second chance" program to give individuals a new start in life through spiritual guidance, discipline, education and training. Our goal is to cultivate, motivate and rehabilitate these individuals through evangelism, education, Christian counseling and church participation.

“THE FUTURE” Is a state of the art Tutoring program that offers surrounding area students, grades K-12 academic support in challenging subjects. We provide a nurturing environment designed to encourage students to reach their highest academic potential while fostering core values that will prepare them for future success, as followed:
*Recognizing and Encouraging individual capabilities through diverse educational opportunities
*Build confidence and instill the belief that academic success can be achieved
*Build self-esteem by providing opportunities to be successful while building academic skills

Saving Our Youth's (S.O.Y.) mission is to bring positive reconstruction to a dying youth by providing opportunities for them to succeed.  The values and beliefs of this organization are based solely in God and the Christian Faith. This organization seeks to be a voice expressing the importance of a Drug and Gang free life and of Education and Family.
Saving Our Youth has five main objectives/goals:

• provide hope and opportunities for youth to succeed
• promote and encourage the importance of education
• provide leadership and communication skills
• deter youth away from drug and gang involvement
• instill in each individual positive morals and values that will help them reach their full potential

“FAMILY PLANNING” is a most valuable program designed to facilitate families through building strong relationships.  This is achieved by teaching the importance of communication, finance, time management, career building, and most importantly unconditional love.  In addition, emphasis is placed on exemplifying physical, spiritual, and psychological development, while encouraging social technological adaptation in a changing world. Families are the biblical institution implemented by God and our goal is to be the catalyst that aids in the divine unification of families.
