Pastor

William A. Bennett was born in 1981 to Pastor Andrew and Colleen Bennett. It was evident at a young age that both sons of Andrew and Colleen were called and anointed of God. William gave his life to Christ at a very young age and would find himself preaching on cassette tapes and turning them over to his father for approval. As William grew older his love for God and the ministry grew stronger. At 18 years old William became a minister in his father’s Church where he served in that capacity faithfully for the next 3 years. In 2003 Minister W.A. Bennett’s father was taken home to glory. Though deeply effected by the lost it was in this same year that through a vision William heard the voice of God speak saying: “My son do not fear I have chosen you.” It was at this point that William knew without doubt God was calling him to Pastor.

William was ordained an Elder in the Church of God In Christ, by the laying on of hands of Bishop Robert R. Sanders (Bishop of the Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Illinois). In 2006 Elder W.A. Bennett became the Pastor of City of Refuge and was appointed by Bishop Robert R. Sanders.

In 2003 William married his high school sweetheart Charlatta D. Riggs. Missionary Charlatta, born November 6, 1981, is the youngest daughter of Terry and Evangelist Truly Riggs of Bloomington IL. Missionary Charlatta is the prefect soul mate for Elder Bennett; she supports him in the ministry and encourages him in the work of the Lord. Missionary Charlatta is exudes humility and also is an anointed speaker.
